Travel

You can find information on how to travel to Bonn here: https://www.or.uni-bonn.de/travel.eng.html. The Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics/Arithmeum will host the welcome reception and is in walking distance from the venue and the hotels.

Tourist Activities:

The city of Bonn was founded by the Romans 2,000 years ago. There are many places of interest . Also the nearby city of Cologne provides many tourist highlights .

Hotels

There are many affordable hotels in walking distance from the University Club. As pre-ordered rates are usually above the market level, ISPD did not reserve hotel contingents.

ISPD will not serve breakfast. Breakfast is included in many hotel fares. There are also many bakeries, where you can grab an affordable bite & coffee.

Restaurants

ISPD serves snacks at the welcome receiption, and full meals for Monday lunch, Tuesday lunch and dinner, Wednesday lunch (if you join the social tour). For other times, there are many restaurants in the city center from which you can choose. Most will also serve vegetarian or vegan dishes and have a good quality.

Here are some recommendations:

• Tuscolo, Gerhard-von-Are-Straße 8 -- a legendary pizza place. Pizzas are large, so you may want to share. They also serve pasta and salads and can accommodate larger groups.
• BonnGout, Remigiusplatz 2-4 -- modern bistro cuisine.
• Em Höttche, Markt 4, 53111 Bonn -- hearty German food. Ludwig van Beethoven is said to have partied here as a young man.
• Elefant Bonn, Sternstraße 78 -- casual German food.
• Kolaila, Berliner Freiheit 19-21 -- authentic Sichuan cuisine.
• Biergarten Am Alten Zoll, Brassertufer -- the most popular beer garden in Bonn if the weather permits; serves pizza and other simple dishes.
