For people who need to apply for visa, it is important that they register first. This is ACM policy for visa requests:

ACM's policy regarding invitation letters and support for visa requests dictates that the process must be handled/initiated by headquarters. ACM does not issue invitation letters but rather "support" letters. The letter indicates the name, dates and location of the conference. If the requesting person is an author of a paper or a presenter etc., that information will be included as well. The request should be sent to supportletters@acm.org with the following information:

  1. Your name as it appears on your passport.
  2. Your current postal mailing address.
  3. The name of the conference you plan to attend.
  4. Your Registration Confirmation Number.
  5. If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please provide the title and indicate whether you are the 'sole author' or a 'co-author'
